Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Development Officer to advance its mission in Port Elizabeth by building relationships with donors, corporations, and foundations. The role focuses on securing funding through strategic donor engagement and fundraising initiatives to sustain and grow the organization’s impact in the Eastern Cape.

The successful candidate will lead fundraising plans, manage donor communications, and coordinate events, while collaborating with programs to ensure alignment with priorities

Qualifications

• Track record in fundraising or development.
• Experience with major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with Port Elizabeth community and philanthropic landscape is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans to meet annual targets.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with major donors and corporate partners.
• Organize fundraising events, campaigns, and donor cultivation activities.
• Prepare grant proposals, sponsorship proposals, and donor communications.
• Maintain donor database records and acknowledge gifts.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising with program goals.
