Job summary

South African National Blood Service in Gauteng is seeking a Phlebotomist for the blood collection department to collect quality safe blood against targets.

The role requires current HPCSA registration and CPR certification, a valid code 8 or 10 driver's license, and willingness to work overtime, weekends and variable hours. You will support donor registrations and ensure professional patient care.

Qualifications

• Current HPCSA registration and eligibility to practice.
• Current CPR certificate and renewal as required.
• Overtime, weekends and variable hours may be required.
• Valid code 8 or 10 driver's license.
• Standing for long periods and lifting loads up to 14kg.

Responsibilities

• Assists in efficient clinic preparation and closure to achieve blood collection targets.
• Ensure that donor registrations are undertaken professionally, accurately, promptly and in a friendly manner.
• Undertakes Basic Physical Check/Assessment to correctly assess donor suitability for Donations.
• Ensure that Phlebotomy procedures are undertaken professionally according to Standard Operating Procedures and in a friendly manner.
• General Administrative Duties.
