About the Role

Our client, a leading logistics provider, is seeking a motivated and experienced Distribution Center Team Lead to join their team in Mossel Bay, Western Cape. This role involves supervising daily operations within the distribution center, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. You will lead a team of warehouse associates, guide them in their tasks, and foster a productive and positive work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a team of warehouse associates in daily distribution center operations.
• Ensure efficient and accurate execution of tasks such as receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Monitor team performance and provide constructive feedback and training.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, enforcing all safety regulations and procedures.
• Assist in inventory management, including cycle counts and discrepancy resolution.
• Identify and report operational issues and propose solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and operational standards.
• Facilitate effective communication between team members and management.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the distribution center.
• Manage workload distribution and ensure targets are met.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment, with at least 1-2 years in a team lead or supervisory capacity.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including order fulfillment and inventory management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
• High school diploma or equivalent; further training or certification is a plus.
• Experience in the Western Cape region is an advantage.
