Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town is seeking a diligent Dispatch Assistant to support the Senior Dispatch Controller in coordinating daily steel product dispatches, verifying tag data, and printing labels.

You will manage truck entries, loads, and weighbridge coordination, maintain dispatch records, and ensure stock is correctly identified and stored, while complying with OHSA regulations.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years experience in a steel manufacturing or similar environment.
• Experience in logistics/dispatch of final products.
• Matric or similar with relevant experience.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel/Word/Outlook).
• High attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Daily dispatching of rolled steel bar products.
• Verify product tag data and print barcode labels.
• Generate dispatch documentation for loads.
• Coordinate truck entry/exit and weighbridge operations.
• Arrange loading of trucks with minimal delays.
• Maintain daily dispatch records and stock labelling.
