Job summary

Gauteng Treasury in Johannesburg invites applications for a senior risk management role. The post requires a three-year NQF Level 7 qualification in Risk Management, Auditing or Finance and at least five years in middle or senior management in Risk Management.

The successful candidate will lead provincial risk management services, develop norms and standards, provide guidance to departments, monitor and report on risk implementation, and oversee audit findings and the provincial risk register.

Job description

• Package : R 1 317 384.00 per annum (All-inclusive package) consists of 70% Basic salary and 30% flexible portion that may be structured in terms of the applicable rules.

Requirements

Duties

• To manage, promote and enforce Provincial Risk Management Services in Departments and delegated Municipalities. Manage the development of Provincial Norms and Standards. Provide technical guidance and capacity building to Departments and Municipalities. Monitor, evaluate and report on Risk Management implementation in Departments and Municipalities. Manage and communicate Audit findings. Manage the development and review of a Provincial Risk Register. Management of the Directorate.

SMS candidates will be required to undergo a Competency Assessment as prescribed by the DPSA. All shortlisted candidates, including SMS, shall undertake two pre-entry assessments. One will be a practical exercise, and the other will be an Integrity (Ethical Conduct) Assessment.
