Job summary

Placements24 is supporting a premier professional sports organization in recruiting a Head of Strength and Conditioning based in Mahikeng. You will design and lead scientifically grounded training programs to elevate strength, speed, and endurance while reducing injury risk.

You will manage a team of S&C coaches, collaborate with medical staff and sport-specific coaches, and contribute to ongoing performance development using data-driven approaches.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Exercise Science, Sports Science, Kinesiology, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years in strength and conditioning, with at least 4 years in a leadership role within professional sports.
• Certification from a recognized body (e.g., CSCS, ASCA).
• Proven track record of preparing athletes for competition and improving performance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in performance analysis software and data-driven program design.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for professional athletes across sports.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of S&C coaches with high professional standards.
• Conduct regular athlete assessments to monitor progress and adapt training protocols.
• Collaborate with coaches, physiotherapists, and nutritionists to create integrated development plans.
• Stay updated on sports science research to enhance athletic performance.
• Ensure safe and effective use of training equipment and maintain a world-class facility.
