Job summary

Jobtailor in Sandton seeks a Senior Enterprise Architect to shape secure, scalable digital architecture for Pan-African growth. You will own and evolve architecture for customer channels, shared capabilities, integration and enabling technology.

Define current-state and target-state architectures across platforms, data, cloud and AI. Translate business strategy into capabilities, investments and delivery roadmaps while aligning with governance and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology required.

Job description

• Shape secure, scalable digital architecture for Pan-African growth
• Own and evolve architecture for customer channels, shared digital capabilities, integration and enabling technology
• Define current-state, target-state and transition architectures across platforms, identity, data, cloud and AI
• Translate business strategy and customer-journey priorities into capabilities, investments and delivery roadmaps
• Maintain architecture principles, heatmaps, technical-debt priorities and technology lifecycle plans
• Advise the CIO on technology choices, trade-offs, sequencing, risks and total cost of ownership
• Lead architecture decision forums and document material decisions
• Establish reference standards for APIs, events, microservices, serverless, web, mobile, content, identity, observability and cloud
• Provide architecture assurance from discovery through production and govern exceptions
• Drive legacy decoupling, modularity and reusable platform capabilities
• Embed architecture requirements into pipelines, automated controls and engineering standards
• Ensure resilience, availability, performance, accessibility, supportability and data-protection requirements are designed and tested
• Promote interoperability and reuse across Business Bank, enterprise platforms and Pan-African markets
• Lead and develop domain and solution architects while building succession and critical capability
• Measure roadmap progress, debt and duplication reduction, reuse, decision turnaround, compliance, platform outcomes and cost optimisation
• Carry one-stop-shop accountability for risk associated with solution design from ideation to deployment
• Engage chapter and guild leads in solution decision-making
• Deliver first-year priorities including establishing the baseline, publishing the target operating model and roadmap, implementing governance and delivering high-value outcomes

Requirements

• Extensive architecture leadership experience in regulated enterprises
• Strong cloud-native, API-led, event-driven, identity and front-end expertise
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
• Knowledge of and ability to apply organizational risk and governance frameworks
• Ability to align solution designs with Group guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Ability to deliver on time and on budget
