Placements24 is recruiting a skilled Automotive Diesel Mechanic for a busy East London service centre. The role covers diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines and related systems for a fleet of trucks and commercial vehicles.

You will contribute to reliability, performance and adherence to high service standards, within a modern diesel technology environment. Applicants should have proven diesel mechanic experience, strong diagnostic skills, and a trade qualification in diesel

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic for heavy-duty or commercial vehicles.
Strong knowledge of diesel engine operation, maintenance and repair.
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and tools specific to diesel engines.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines and related systems.
Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine problems and fuel/exhaust systems.
Utilize diagnostic software and tools to identify engine faults and performance issues.
Conduct repairs on truck components including transmissions, brakes and suspensions.
Ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications and maintain service records.
Adhere to safety regulations and keep a clean, organized workspace.
