Placements24 in Upington, Northern Cape is seeking a highly skilled Specialized Vehicle Technician to diagnose, maintain and repair a diverse fleet of specialized vehicles, including trucks and heavy equipment.

You will use advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues, perform diagnostics, and ensure maintenance aligns with manufacturer specifications and company standards. The role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Automotive Technician.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience diagnosing and repairing specialized vehicles.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Excellent problem‑solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license; Code 10 or higher preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience in Upington, Northern Cape is a plus.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and refrigeration units advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of specialized vehicles.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and report findings and recommended repairs.
• Execute repairs accurately and efficiently, adhering to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.

• Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, braking, suspension, and electrical systems.
• Order and manage spare parts inventory as needed.
