Job summary

Janine Hulme seeks a Diesel Mechanic for a permanent, site-based role in Stutterheim, Eastern Cape. Requires trade-tested background and at least five years in a workshop environment, with experience on construction and agricultural machinery.

Valid driver’s license, strong English skills, and willingness to work overtime and weekends are essential. Responsibilities include repairs and servicing of company vehicles and plant, managing parts requisitions, updating job cards, and upholding safety

Qualifications

• Trade-tested diesel mechanic preferred.
• At least 5 years’ workshop experience with construction and agricultural machinery.
• Experience on large mechanical vehicles and equipment.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Willing to work overtime, standby and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Repair and service of vehicles and mechanical plant owned by the company.
• Process stores requisitions for parts and use only required stock.
• Receive Job Cards, complete work, and record details on the card.
• Ensure repairs and servicing are completed correctly the first time.
• Support subordinates’ morale, wellbeing, and training where applicable.
• Maintain safety standards and good housekeeping in the workshop.
