Job summary

Well-established manufacturing company near Piet Retief (Mkhondo), Mpumalanga, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to perform planned, unscheduled and breakdown maintenance on diesel and petrol vehicles and machines. You will supervise the repair shop and conduct standby duties as required.

Requirements include Grade 12 with Mathematics, N3 in Mechanical Engineering, trade-tested Diesel Mechanic, 5 years’ experience in heavy industry maintenance, EC license, and proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with core Mathematics.
• Minimum of N3 in Mechanical Engineering.
• MUST BE TRADE TESTED DIESEL MECHANIC.
• At least 5 years’ motor mechanic maintenance in a heavy industry factory.
• Unendorsed Code EC vehicle license.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment inspections and ensure daily work activities are executed effectively.
• Supervise repair shop.
• Ensure effective performance of workshop team and subordinates.
• Comply with production and safety procedures.
• Comply with Quality Management Systems, company policies and OHSA.

Well-established manufacturing company is looking to employ a Diesel Mechanic at their plant near Piet Retief (Mkhondo), Mpumalanga. You will be responsible to carry out skilled diesel and petrol vehicle and machines planned, unscheduled and breakdown maintenance, as well as project work on the site. Also, to supervise a repair shop and to carry out standby duties as required.

For the position you would be required to have:

• Grade 12 with core Mathematics.
• Minimum of N3 in Mechanical Engineering.
• MUST BE TRADE TESTED DIESEL MECHANIC.
• At least 5 years’ motor mechanic maintenance in a heavy industry factory.
• Unendorsed Code EC vehicle license.
• Computer literate in Microsoft 365 suite.
• Ability to communicate in English competently.
• Clear criminal record.

Salary around R450k per annum + excellent benefits
