Job summary

Caxton & CTP Publishers and Printers Limited is hiring a Die Cutter Operator to join the Cut & Crease team in Cape Town. You will set up and operate die cutting machines, ensuring products meet exact customer specs and quality standards.

Responsibilities include reading work tickets, maximizing productivity, performing basic maintenance, and reporting faults. The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and willingness to work overtime and shifts when needed.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in carton making.
• 3-5 years' experience operating a die cutting machine in packaging.
• Full blanking experience.
• Competent on CUBE system.
• Technical aptitude to understand machine settings and adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to meet production targets and performance standards.
• Good problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to work overtime and shifts when required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate die cutting machines to meet ticket specifications.
• Ensure finished products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
• Read and interpret work tickets and production documentation.
• Maximise productivity while minimising waste, downtime, and machine stoppages.
• Conduct routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
• Report machine faults or quality concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area per health and safety procedures.
• Comply with all quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with production staff to meet targets and deadlines.
