Placements24 is seeking a dedicated DevOps Engineer to join their IT operations team in Tembisa, South Africa. This role focuses on streamlining development and operations through automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code to ensure reliable, scalable software systems.

You will design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate provisioning with Terraform and Ansible, and collaborate across development and operations to resolve production issues while upholding security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and configuration management tools.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of networking principles and security best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for various applications.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance stability and availability.
