Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in mineral processing or related heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Knowledge of engineering studies, project execution, detailed design, and operational challenges.
• Excellent project planning, resource management, and coordination skills.
• Strong knowledge of risk management and engineering governance processes.
• Ability to manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities.
• Strong commercial awareness and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
• Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and new technologies.
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee multidisciplinary engineering, design, and drafting activities across multiple projects.
• Coordinate engineering resources to ensure deliverables are achieved within schedule and budget requirements.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the design lifecycle, from studies through to detailed engineering.
• Review, guide, and approve engineering designs, calculations, and design developments.
• Monitor team performance and provide ongoing support, feedback, and mentorship.
• Ensure adherence to engineering procedures, design standards, quality requirements, and change management processes.
• Promote safety-in-design principles and technical integrity across all engineering activities.
• Manage project progress and provide regular reporting to project stakeholders.
• Drive collaboration across disciplines to achieve efficient and effective project execution.
• Mentor engineers and designers, supporting professional growth and succession planning initiatives.
• Identify and implement innovative engineering solutions and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure delivery of high-quality solutions within agreed timeframes and budgets.

Qualification:

• BEng / BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) or equivalent
