Job summary

UN Women South Africa Country Office is seeking a Deputy Country Representative to lead day-to-day management and oversee the country programme, ensuring delivery aligned with the UN Women Strategic Plan.

The ideal candidate brings a Master’s degree in international development and at least 7 years of progressive leadership experience in development programmes, with a strong focus on gender equality and women's empowerment at the international level.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of international development programme leadership experience.
• Experience in gender equality and women’s empowerment.
• Experience in UN system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management of the Country Office.
• Oversee the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the country programme.
• Develop strategic partnerships and resource mobilization strategies.
• Represent UN Women in UNCT and coordinate with government, partners and donors.
• Ensure compliance and accountability in monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
