Job summary

Ubuntu Resource Management in Cape Town seeks a Demi Chef de Partie to support a busy kitchen in a luxury setting. You will assist with mise en place, cooking, plating and maintaining high standards of quality.

The ideal candidate has 23+ years in a professional kitchen and at least 1 year in a similar role, with experience in high-end hotels or luxury lodges.

You will work in a section-based brigade, focusing on food safety, hygiene, and teamwork to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery qualification.
• Minimum 23 years of experience in a professional kitchen.
• At least 1 year in a Demi Chef de Partie or Commis role and readiness to progress.
• Experience in 4- or 5-star hotel, luxury lodge, or high-end restaurant environment.
• Experience with mise en place, food prep, cooking and plating.
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards.
