Job summary

CHEP in Natal, South Africa is seeking a Logistics Planner to own demand and supply planning, balancing the service centre network and hire equipment demand while driving cost efficiency.

You will partner with Commercial Sales, Operations and Service Centres to develop forecasts, monitor inventory, and optimize transport spend, using Blue Yonder, SAP, and BI tools to deliver accurate budgets and reports.

Qualifications

• Diploma qualification in Supply Chain or a related field.
• 3 - 5 years in Demand and Supply Planning and Inventory Management.
• Experience setting up and maintaining JDA forecasting and rebalancing workbench modules.
• Computer literacy – MS Office including advanced Excel and PowerBI, SAP, Business Warehouse and Blue Yonder.

Responsibilities

• Own the Customer Forecasting process with Commercial Sales to validate forecasts.
• Develop and maintain understanding of CHEP product dynamics at multiple levels.
• Strive toward 100% Demand Planning forecast accuracy in Blue Yonder.
• Conduct network balance studies to improve service and reduce costs.
• Calculate national production plans and monitor Service Centre output vs. target.
• Liaise with Hire Equipment Planning to ensure supply capacity matches demand.
• Compile monthly commentary to Finance on logistics costs vs budget.
