Job summary

CHEP South Africa (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Logistics Planner to own forecasting, coordinate with Commercial Sales, and ensure hire equipment supply aligns with demand across CHEP’s Service Centre network.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, KPI development, and cost-efficient transport planning within a hybrid logistics environment. You will interact with Operations and Sales teams to optimize service levels while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Diploma qualification in Supply Chain or a related field.
• 3-5 years in Demand and Supply Planning, and Inventory Management.
• Experience setting up and maintaining forecasting and rebalancing tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the Customer Forecasting process, coordinating with Commercial Sales to validate forecasts.
• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of CHEP product dynamics across regions and centers.
• Strive toward 100% Demand Planning forecast accuracy in Blue Yonder by maintaining master data and improving forecasting rules.
• Conduct network flow analyses to optimize Inventory Management and Order fulfillment & distribution.
• Plan national production and monitor Service Centre output to meet demand and stock cover.
• Collaborate with Operations Leaders to address shortfalls and support new purchases and capacity planning.
• Present data-driven insights and cost-improvement opportunities to senior stakeholders.
