Placements24 in Johannesburg is seeking a Blockchain Developer with a focus on Smart Contracts and DeFi to design, develop, and deploy secure contracts on Ethereum-compatible platforms.

You will work in a hybrid setup, collaborating with product managers and front-end developers to build next-generation financial applications, leveraging Solidity, Hardhat or Truffle, and staying ahead of DeFi trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience as a Blockchain Developer with a strong focus on smart contract development.
• Proficiency in Solidity and experience with smart contract development frameworks (e.g., Hardhat, Truffle).
• Deep understanding of DeFi concepts, protocols (e.g., AMMs, lending protocols, stablecoins), and ecosystems.
• Familiarity with blockchain architecture, consensus mechanisms, and cryptographic principles.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (React, Vue.js) and Web3 libraries is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Passion for decentralized technologies and the crypto space.
• Experience working in Johannesburg or with South African regulatory considerations is beneficial.

Responsabilités

• Designing, developing, testing, and deploying secure smart contracts (Solidity, Vyper, etc.) on blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Polygon, or Binance Smart Chain.
• Developing and integrating with various DeFi protocols and services.
• Writing comprehensive unit and integration tests for smart contracts.
• Optimizing smart contracts for gas efficiency and security.
• Collaborating with front-end developers to integrate smart contracts with user interfaces.
• Researching and implementing new blockchain technologies and DeFi trends.
• Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and security standards.
• Troubleshooting and debugging smart contract and dApp issues.
• Contributing to technical documentation and architectural decisions.
• Staying current with the rapidly evolving blockchain and DeFi landscape.
