The ideal candidate has 3+ years of delivery experience, a valid SA driver’s license, and strong time-management skills to maintain a set route with professional handling of goods.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established regional logistics provider, is seeking a dependable Dedicated Route Driver to service specific delivery routes within the East London , Eastern Cape area. This role focuses on consistent, scheduled deliveries to a loyal customer base, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent time-management skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and safety. You will be operating a company-provided light commercial vehicle, acting as the face of our client to their customers. This on-site, full-time position requires punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to manage a set route efficiently. We are looking for a driver who values reliability and takes pride in maintaining consistent service quality in the East London region.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute assigned daily delivery routes consistently and efficiently within the East London region.
• Safely operate a company delivery vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods to commercial and residential customers.
• Obtain required signatures and documentation for proof of delivery.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic operational readiness of the assigned vehicle.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
• Manage delivery manifests and reconcile any discrepancies with dispatch.
• Provide professional and courteous service to all customers encountered on the route.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route progress, delays, or delivery challenges.
• Handle all delivered goods with care to prevent damage.

Requirements

• Valid South African driver's license (Code 8/EB or higher).
• A clean driving record with no significant traffic violations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in delivery driving, preferably with established routes.
• Good knowledge of the East London road network and surrounding areas.
• Familiarity with handheld delivery devices or scanners is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow a set schedule meticulously.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Physical fitness to handle loading and unloading of goods.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high service standards.
