Job summary

EY in Johannesburg seeks an Assistant Manager to join the Transaction Strategy and Execution (TSE) team, focusing on deal management and integration execution. You will lead client engagement efforts, oversee integrations and carve-outs, and drive project execution while managing risk and stakeholder expectations.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in professional services, and the ability to travel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and approximately 5 years of related work experience or equivalent
Professional services/consulting experience: from a management consultancy, corporate finance firm or internal consultant
Experience related to transactions (due diligence, carve‑out or integrations)
Related certification a plus

Responsibilities

Lead client engagement teams in developing and executing transaction strategy to secure deal value.
Demonstrate understanding of integrations, carve‑outs, and other types of transaction engagements.
Demonstrate skills in project execution, including synergy assessment, project management, problem‑solving, and facilitation.
Assist in identifying risks and issues related to integration planning, timelines, and functional areas.
Develop client relationships at appropriate client level and support business development activities.
Foster an open and inclusive work environment.
