Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Distribution Centre in Stikland seeks a DC Picker to ensure efficient picking, replenishment and count processes in line with SOPs. You will transport goods as needed using relevant warehouse machinery and rotate stock by earliest expiry date.

Minimum requirements include Grade 12 and 1–2 years’ relevant warehouse experience. The role demands accuracy, safety checks, and flexibility to perform other functions within the department as needed.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/ Matric is required.
• 1–2 years relevant experience in a warehouse.
• Experience with stock rotation and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Pick orders accurately after receipt.
• Use totes/boxes per picking instructions and follow procedures.
• Maintain speed and accuracy while picking.
• Do not remove stock without proper documentation.
• Rotate stock by earliest expiry date.
• Ensure goods are loaded into the correct tote/box in the system.
• Willing to rotate to other tasks in the department.

Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Distribution Centre in Stikland has an opportunity available for a DC Picker to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to ensure efficient and accurate picking, replenishment and counting of stock in line with company standard operational procedures within the warehouse. Transport of goods from one point to another as per management/ operational requirements using relevant machinery.

Minimum Requirements…

Experience & Qualification:

• Grade 12/ Matric
• 1 -2 years’ relevant experience

Responsibilities:

• Ensure orders are picked, once an order is received.
• Ensure that necessary totes/ boxes are used and rules are followed at all times, when receiving picking instructions.
• Ensure that necessary standards of speed and accuracy are maintained, while picking.
• Do not remove stock from the warehouse, without proper documentation or the approval of the superior.
• Apply a procedure of stock rotation when picking stock (Earliest expiry date, to be picked first)
• Be responsible for ensuring that good housekeeping practices, are applied at all times.
• Perform safety checks of equipment and report any concerns to your Supervisor/ Manager
• Ensure all goods when picked are loaded into the system guided coloured tote or box.
• Ensure that the completed order is dropped off at the correct checking area or conveyor.
• Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise.
