Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Stikland, Cape Town, seeks a Dispatch Assistant Manager to drive operational excellence within the distribution centre. You will oversee route planning, order consolidation, local and line-haul dispatch, returns and vehicle maintenance, ensuring legal and customer requirements are met.

The role emphasizes ensuring daily deliveries to local stores and timely resolution of operational issues, with emphasis on productivity and compliance across departments.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) or Senior Certificate.
• Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum 3 years in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan optimal routes and space to meet day-to-day objectives.
• Coordinate stock dispatch to local and coastal stores within 48 hours.
• Manage returns and upliftments; track return process.
• Maintain vehicle records and ensure breakdowns are addressed.
• Liaise with night shift manager on priorities, productivity and staffing.
• Monitor fleet costs and ensure adherence to SOPs.
