Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand seeks a DC Dispatch Assistant Manager to drive operational excellence in the distribution centre, focusing on route planning, order consolidation, dispatch, returns, and vehicle maintenance. You will implement efficient processes, manage staff and ensure compliance with safety and policy standards.

The role requires a senior level of planning, communication and leadership within a Distribution Centre environment, with a focus on timely deliveries and cost control.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and a relevant degree/diploma in logistics or supply chain management.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in distribution, logistics or supply chain.
• Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure optimal route and space planning to meet day-to-day objectives.
• Understand and execute the planning process for stock leaving the distribution centre.
• Route vehicles to ensure optimum utilisation and turnaround times.
• Ensure deliveries from the previous day reach stores; within 48 hours to Coastal stores.
• Arrange returns and tracking of upliftments throughout the return process.
• Manage the process flow within the return cage per Dis-Chem requirements.
• Implement more efficient means of streamlining operations.
• Manage productivity within the department.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance records and ensure compliance.
• Assist with credit note reductions related to damages and inaccuracies.
• Liaise with night shift manager on priorities, productivity and staffing.
