Job summary

FNB South Africa is seeking a data science professional to plan, build, optimise and implement quantitative analytical methodologies that support business opportunities and strategy. You will work within a dynamic team to develop advanced mathematical models and provide insights for decision making.

The role requires an Honours degree and 5 years’ data analytics experience, ideally in financial crime or related areas.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science or Engineering.
• 5 years’ experience in a data environment including analytical model development and implementation.
• Experience in financial crime, fraud or anti-money laundering is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Run analytical projects from problem identification to implementation.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Develop and refine statistical models and data analyses to inform decisions.

• Ensure operational excellence through the delivery of work processes according to defined quality standards
• Comply with relevant statutory, legislative, policy and governance requirements and adhere to processes and procedures related to area of specialisation.

You Will Be An Ideal Candidate If You

• Preferred Qualification – Honours Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Engineering
• Experience – 5 years’ experience in a data environment including analytical model development and implementation.
• Data and analytics experience within a financial crime, fraud or anti-money laundering environment would be an added advantage.
