About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Data Scientist to join their Business Intelligence team in Mossel Bay. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for uncovering insights from complex datasets to drive strategic decision-making across the organization. You will develop predictive models, design experiments, and create compelling data visualizations that communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources for analysis and model building.
• Develop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics solutions.
• Design and execute A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate business initiatives and product changes.
• Create insightful dashboards and visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to communicate findings to business stakeholders in Western Cape.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business analysts to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track business objectives.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar analytical role.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
• Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design.
• Experience with SQL and database querying, as well as familiarity with big data technologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
