Placements24 is seeking a Data Scientist to join our Richards Bay team, using advanced statistics and machine learning to extract actionable insights from large, complex datasets that drive strategic decisions and optimize operations.

You will collect and preprocess data, build predictive models, design experiments, and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders while collaborating with engineering to deploy models in production within a hybrid Richards Bay work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong portfolio of predictive modeling and machine learning projects.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
• Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and techniques.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
