Job summary

FirstRand is seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy Specialist (SME) to join the Data Privacy and Protection Centre of Excellence. This role strengthens privacy capabilities across the organisation with a focus on privacy operations, governance, and risk management.

You will collaborate with data owners, architects, and product teams to embed privacy-by-design and support DPIAs, RoPA, and PAIA management, including leveraging platforms like OneTrust, TrustArc, and Securiti.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years in Data Privacy Programme Management.
• Working knowledge of PAIA and POPIA and their practical application.
• Experience with data privacy laws, PAIA, compliance frameworks, and IT risk governance.
• Exposure to privacy issues related to AI or emerging technologies is a plus.
• Hands on experience with privacy platforms (OneTrust, TrustArc, Securiti).

Responsibilities

• Represent the CoE and provide subject matter expertise in privacy across FirstRand.
• Draft, review, maintain privacy documentation and training materials.
• Identify privacy risks in designs and implement privacy by design principles.
• Oversee privacy management platforms and ensure alignment with security controls.
• Coordinate privacy risk assessments, RoPA, DPIAs, and third‑party risk reviews.
• Develop dashboards and reporting for privacy metrics and incidents.
