Job summary

iOCO in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong Microsoft Fabric expertise to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions.

You will ingest, transform, and govern data across APIs, databases, and cloud platforms, using SQL, Python, and PySpark, while collaborating with analysts and stakeholders to deliver trusted data for reporting and advanced analytics.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong SQL skills and data modelling knowledge.
• Experience with data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions.
• Develop data solutions using Microsoft Fabric components (Fabric Data Factory, OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse).
• Ingest data from APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and files.
• Transform, cleanse, and prepare data for reporting and analytics.
• Ensure data governance, quality, and security across pipelines.
