Job summary

Super Group International is seeking a Data Engineer II to design and build data pipelines, own ETL/ELT processes, and ensure data quality. You will mentor junior engineers and partner with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced gaming environment.

You will contribute to CI/CD, data modelling, and maintain data contracts, while improving pipeline reliability and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and building data pipelines, including ETL/ELT.
• Strong SQL and data modelling capabilities.
• Proven ability to implement data quality checks and diagnose data issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines with increasing independence.
• Own end-to-end build of moderately complex ETL/ELT pipelines from design to production.
• Ensure data quality and completeness for your area; investigate root causes of data issues.
• Support and mentor junior engineers; review code and onboard new team members.
• Own operational health of pipelines; respond to incidents and keep documentation up to date.
• Contribute to engineering practice improvements, CI/CD, testing and coding standards.

As our Data Engineer II, you’ll play a key part in delivering the pipelines and data solutions that keep our data accurate, complete and on time, getting hands‑on with designing, building and owning data pipelines with increasing independence, and mentoring more junior engineers. What You’ll Do

• Design and build data pipelines with increasing independence.
  • Own the end-to-end build of moderately complex ETL/ELT pipelines, from design through to production.
  • Make sound technical decisions within established architecture patterns.
• Own data quality and completeness for your area.
  • Design and implement data quality and completeness checks for the pipelines you own.
  • Investigate and resolve data issues, identifying root causes rather than just symptoms.
• Support and mentor junior engineers.
  • Review code and designs from Data Engineer Level I, providing constructive feedback.
  • Help onboard new engineers to the team's tools and patterns.
• Take ownership of operational health for your pipelines.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents in your area, improving monitoring and alerting where gaps exist.
  • Keep documentation and data contracts for your pipelines current.
• Contribute to engineering practice improvements.
  • Suggest and help implement improvements to CI/CD, testing, and coding standards.
  • Participate actively in design discussions and technical decision-making.

Desirable Skills You’ve Got Up Your Sleeve

• In-depth knowledge of sports betting markets, including odds calculation, betting types and market trends
• Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry, with a strong understanding of player behaviour and industry regulations
• Familiarity with gambling regulations and compliance requirements in various jurisdictions, ensuring adherence to legal standards
• Experience in developing and executing customer retention strategies
• Experience with orchestration and CI/CD tooling (e.g. SSIS, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Experience working in a large‑scale or highly regulated data environment
