Job summary

TFG in South Africa is seeking a Data Engineer to design, implement and maintain data infrastructure for the Insights team. You will collaborate with Engineering Leads, Data Architects and stakeholders to ensure data is sourced, stored and accessible for analytics.

The role emphasizes ETL, data modelling, lakehouse architectures, and real-time processing. You will build pipelines, dashboards, and BI reports while upholding governance and scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years IT experience or related qualification.
• 3+ years design and development of data pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python and/or SQL.
• Experience with production BI environments (PowerBI/Tableau/Pyramid).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain ETL pipelines.
• Build data models and schemas for efficient querying.
• Modernise legacy data environments to cloud-native platforms.
