Job summary

Advtech in Gauteng is seeking a qualified Data Engineer to ingest, transform and model data across the business, enabling end users to generate differentiating insights. You will design ERD and dimensional models, build Power BI reports, and ensure data quality for the Data Warehouse.

Required skills include SQL, Power BI (DAX), ETL, data modelling, and experience with Synapse pipelines/Azure Data Factory/SSIS.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a SQL Developer
• 5+ years as a BI Developer
• 3+ years in Data Engineering
• 3+ years with Synapse pipelines / Data Factory / SSIS
• Diploma in IT or related field

Responsibilities

• Data analysis, data modelling and report building to translate business requirements into actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data warehouse components.
• Create visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI (DAX).
• Collaborate with BI Analysts and IT teams to ensure data quality and security.
• Track tasks and resolutions using DevOps practices and manage data warehouse changes.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of best practices in data engineering.
