Job summary

Indsafri is seeking an experienced AI Engineer (Data) to design, develop, and deploy scalable AI-driven solutions on a 6-month renewable contract in Johannesburg. You will leverage Microsoft Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.

You will build AI-powered agents, orchestration pipelines, and RAG workflows, integrating with enterprise systems and leveraging Teams/Power Platform for scalable deployment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience with AI/ML or Generative AI solutions.
• Experience with agent-based architectures and/or conversational AI.
• Experience with API integration.
• Knowledge of Prompt Engineering, LLM evaluation and tuning, Generative AI, and agent orchestration.
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Experience with SQL, APIs, data lakes, and enterprise data platforms.
• Experience with GitHub, CI/CD, DevOps, Agile and/or SAFe.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to design scalable, production-ready AI solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Develop and optimise RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines.
• Build and deploy scalable AI agents across different business domains.

• Optimise model usage, cost, response accuracy, and overall performance.
