Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor (Director/Associate Director) to lead cost control for data centre projects. The role focuses on detailed cost estimation, BoQ preparation, and value engineering to deliver cost efficiency across complex builds.

Ideal candidates will have 8–10+ years in QS roles, SACQSP or RICS registration, and a strong background in MEPF and procurement processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
• Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) with SACQSP or RICS.
• 8–10+ years of quantity surveying experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for construction projects, including data centre systems.
• Conduct value engineering to identify cost savings while maintaining quality.
• Develop multi-scenario forecasts to support client decisions.
• Provide accurate cost advice across design and construction phases.
