Data Architect | Consulting

We’re looking for a hands‑on Data Architect who combines strong technical capability with consulting experience. This role blends lead‑level data engineering with solution architecture and client engagement, requiring you to design and build scalable solutions while working directly with clients – both in South Africa and internationally.

You’ll actively contribute to the full project lifecycle, from early‑stage scoping and pre‑sales through to delivery and post‑implementation support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and implement scalable data architecture solutions using the Microsoft data stack (Azure, Fabric, Power BI)
• Lead development of data pipelines, data models, and analytics solutions
• Work directly with clients to gather requirements, architect solutions, and deliver high‑quality implementations
• Engage in pre‑sales discussions, helping to shape solution designs and produce effort estimates
• Translate complex business needs into clear, scalable data solutions
• Support project delivery teams and mentor junior developers through code reviews and technical leadership
• Document architecture, processes, and decisions clearly for stakeholders at all levels

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, BI, or architecture roles
• Proven consulting experience, with direct engagement with clients both locally and internationally
• Strong technical expertise in:
• Microsoft Fabric
• Power BI and DAX
• T‑SQL and SQL Server
• Data warehousing and dimensional modelling
• Kimball methodology
• Comfortable in client‑facing roles including workshops, demos, and strategic conversations
• Strong communication skills – verbal and written – with the ability to work with business and technical stakeholders
• Self‑driven and proactive
• Enjoys solving complex problems and delivering real‑world impact
