Job summary

Clover is hiring 2 permanent Laboratory Assistants at its Queensburgh dairy in Durban. You will prepare microbiological media, chemicals and reagents, clean glassware and equipment, and keep lab records.

Ideal candidates have a Grade 12 or equivalent and a relevant qualification; you should be willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, and have fluent business English and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4.
• Qualification in Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology or Food Science is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of quality control.
• Fluent business English and basic computer skills.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare micro media, swabs, chemicals and reagents.
• Prepare lactose as per production needs.
• Clean glassware, water-baths and equipment.
• Follow Good Laboratory Practice and 5S.
• Keep inventory records and update product reports.
