Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant and analytical Cybersecurity Analyst to join our security team in Durban. This hybrid role blends in-office collaboration with remote flexibility to protect the organization's digital assets from evolving threats.

You will monitor security alerts, conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, help develop security policies, investigate breaches, and stay updated on cybersecurity trends to strengthen the security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity analysis or related role.
• Proficiency with SIEM tools and security monitoring.
• Knowledge of network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS.
• Experience with incident response and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from multiple systems to detect incidents.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Investigate security breaches, perform root cause analysis, and recommend remediation actions.
