Job summary

Cashbuild Limited in Katlehong, South Africa, invites applications for a Board Cutting and Edging Supervisor. You will supervise cutting and edging fabric, monitor quality, and coordinate workers to meet customer specifications while minimizing losses and ensuring smooth operation of machinery.

The role requires shift work, strong numeric skills, and the ability to work under pressure. You will uphold OHSA safety standards, maintain equipment, and support other departments as needed to deliver

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification.
• 2 years carpentry experience advantageous.
• 2 years supervisory/management experience advantageous.
• 1 year experience with cutting and edging machinery advantageous.
• Ability to perform basic calculations.
• Good problem solving and analytical skills.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Minimise wastage and customer complaints by calibrating machines to cutting lists.
• Read and interpret cutting lists to reduce wastage.
• Perform daily cleaning and preventive maintenance on machinery.
• Schedule and coordinate staff to ensure exceptional customer service.
• Assist customers with product queries and complaints.
• Maintain OHSA safety compliance in the area of responsibility.
• Ensure stock is merchandised and area kept neat and safe.
• Be aware of suspicious behaviour and report to management.
