Job summary

takealot.com is hiring a Customer Engagement Assistant (FTC) in Cape Town. You will monitor social channels for Takealot and related brands, resolve customer issues, and liaise with internal departments to ensure timely solutions.

Strong English, typing and MS Office skills are required, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The role reports to the Customer Services Team Leader and requires flexibility for shifts, including weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• Senior Certificate or Higher is required.
• 6–12 months customer service experience preferred.
• Strong command of English (verbal and written).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and engage customers via social media for Takealot and associated brands.
• Clarify, diagnose and resolve customer complaints with clear solutions.
• Handle inbound customer engagement related to stockouts and supplier delays.
• Escalate complaints to appropriate teams including CEO as needed.
• Navigate customer accounts using various software tools to provide solutions.
