Job summary

Jobs2day SA in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) is seeking a detail‑driven Creditors Clerk to process supplier invoices, perform supplier reconciliations and ensure accurate daily banking and deposits.

You will capture data, resolve supplier queries, and work closely with stores to clear discrepancies while maintaining meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced finance environment.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) required.
• Diploma or certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping is advantageous.
• Practical creditors/accounts payable or bookkeeping experience.
• Junior bookkeepers and candidates currently studying toward an accounting degree or diploma will also be considered.
• Experience working with accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review and capture supplier invoices.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
• Load payments onto banking platforms and ensure suppliers are paid within agreed terms.
• Reconcile daily sales and deposits and report discrepancies.

Creditors Clerk

Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha), South Africa
Full-time | On-site

Salary: R15,000 per month, negotiable.
Benefits: Provident fund benefits over and above the monthly salary.

Candidates must be available to work during December and one Saturday per month.

About the role

The successful candidate will receive and capture supplier invoices into financial software daily, perform supplier reconciliations for payment and resolve supplier queries. Daily reconciliation of sales and deposits is also required.

Invoice processing

• Receive, review and capture supplier invoices.

Supplier reconciliations

• Perform daily, weekly and monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with stores and suppliers.
• Follow up on outstanding invoices and credit notes.

Payments

• Load payments onto banking platforms.
• Ensure suppliers are paid within agreed terms.

Sales and banking

• Reconcile daily sales and deposits received into the bank.
• Report discrepancies to the supervisor and bank promptly.
• Follow up on discrepancies.

Education and experience

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Diploma or certificate in Accounting or Bookkeeping is advantageous.
