Job summary

Fusion Personnel Ltd. is seeking a Costing Engineer for a well-established company based on the East Rand.

You will prepare accurate cost estimates and support tender submissions, while developing knowledge of costing methods, models, tools and software. You will assist with maintaining the costing database and automated models, understand fabrication processes, steelwork, platework, pipework and mechanical components, and liaise with technical and contracts teams on drawings, component weights,

Qualifications

• Prepare cost estimates for tenders and projects.
• Develop and refine costing methods, models and tools.
• Maintain and improve costing databases and automated models.
• Understand fabrication processes (steelwork, platework, pipework, mechanical components).
• Obtain and manage supplier/sub-contractor quotations and RFQs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tender planning and returnable schedules.
• Liaise with technical and contracts teams on drawings, weights, rates and delivery schedules.
• Identify discrepancies between costing, contracts and drawings.
• Analyse estimated vs actual costs and update costing methods accordingly.
• Assist with handover of successful orders to Contracts Department.
