Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking a cost accounting professional to own rate cards, BOM and SAP-based costing across projects in Gauteng. You will ensure accurate cost capture, maintain master data, and drive improvements to margins and reporting.

You will work with regional operations to align quotes with true costs, prepare regional review packs, and support management accounting transitions from project to reporting, while keeping data integrity and process discipline.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or equivalent.
• 1 to 4 years in costing or management accounting.
• Working with SAP or equivalent job costing and BOM knowledge.
• Advanced Excel capability.
• Attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsabilités

• Maintain SAP item and ledger codes, sales codes and default codes.
• Own the labour and vehicle rate cards, so quotes and jobs are priced on true cost.
• Administer FSM (SACO/ForceLink) and field-service master data.
• Keep Job costing clean and aligned to SAP postings.
• Load and update product codes, rate cards and labour rates for reporting.
• Plan and oversee periodic stock takes, variance posting and reporting.

Basic Function

The position is responsible and accountable for delivering the following key outcomes:

• Ensure financial data integrity across all divisional systems, ensuring data is accurate, complete and reliable for reporting and decision-making.
• Protect business margins by ensuring the financial inputs behind every job are accurate, from quoted rates and pricing through to cost capture and project close-out.
• Own and maintain the integrity of core systems, including Eralis Job Costing module, Field Service Management, timekeeping and Record-to-Report tools.
• Oversee inventory costing and materials flow within SAP Business One, ensuring accurate costing, stock accountability and effective inventory controls.
• Drive process and system improvements to strengthen financial visibility, controls, reporting and operational efficiency.

Strategic Work

• Own the rate methodology: how labour and vehicle rates are built from actual cost and utilisation, and when they are reviewed.
• Set the minimum margin rules and quote approval thresholds with sales and finance
• Design the code structure and master-data governance (who requests, who approves, who changes)
• Use the manpower recovery dashboard to find where and why the business under-recovers, and recommend fixes to operations
• Analyse quoted versus actual margin by job type, region and quoter, and feed the lessons back into pricing
• Turn review packs into commentary and recommendations rather than just reporting variances
• Redesign the health checks and processes so recurring errors stop happening and track the lessons learned register and contribute to kaizen activities
• Build the relationships with regional and operations managers needed for the move into management accounting

Tactical Work

• Maintain SAP item and ledger codes, sales codes and default codes.

• Maintain SAP item and ledger codes, sales codes and default accounts plus the FSM (SACO/ForceLink) master data, so costs and revenue post to the right regional P&L.
• Load and update product codes, rate cards and labour rates on the relevant reporting for one true source.
• Clear unprocessed supplier invoices and raise month-end accruals
• Check job costs, resolve posting errors and reconcile FSM to SAP
• Review quotes for correct rates and margin before release.
• Run the weekly and monthly health checks and log findings for correction
• Compile the regional review packs and chase open items
• Stop loss-making quotes.
• Review costing and margin before quotes go out.
• Keep the books current.
• Oversee and clear unprocessed supplier invoices for accurate periodic direct costs recording.
• Prepare SAP Bill of Materials for standard repetitive installation jobs and product assemblies
• Manco & Cluster Monthly Review pack preparation
• Run regular health checks to catch errors and under-recovery early for system failure and timeous correction
• Ensure all jobs carried out are logged before work can occur to prevent operational teams from working outside of the predefined system.
• Review Operational and Admin KPI Tracker and publishing.
• Review and approve procurement purchase order réquisitions.
• Plan and oversee periodic stock takes, variance posting and reporting
• Conduct Post-Project Close-Out Performance Reviews

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• BCom Accounting or equivalent.
• 1 to 4 years in costing or management accounting.
• Working with SAP or equivalent Job costing and Bill of Materials knowledge
• Advanced Excel capability
• Attention to detail and follow-through.

Advantageous:

• CIMA or SAIPA or CTA/CA(SA) studies under way; field-service or project-based industry experience; Power BI or similar dashboard skills; ForceLink/FSM exposure Employment consideration will be in accordance with the Employment Equity Act requirements
