Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited in Bethlehem, Free State seeks a Cosmetics Consultant who will promote and sell Dis-Chem cosmetic and beauty products while delivering outstanding customer service.

The successful candidate must have Grade 12, retail sales experience, be computer literate, and willing to work retail hours; advantages include cosmetics knowledge and experience.

You will demonstrate products, manage stock levels and assist with promotions to help meet department targets.

Responsibilities

• Promote and sell Dis-Chem cosmetics and beauty products while delivering excellent customer service.
• Escalate serious customer complaints to the manager when needed.
• Demonstrate products through makeovers, demonstrations, sprays and promotions.
• Manage stock levels and report short, damaged, and expired stock.
• Ensure displays are attractive and merchandising is maintained.
• Assist in meeting department, brand and vendor sales targets.
• Keep up to date with products, brands and developments in the retail sector.
• Manage salon appointments (if applicable).
• Adhere to company policies, SOPs, and safety rules.

Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies requires the committed services of a customer-oriented Cosmetics Consultant for our Dihlabeng, Bethlehem, Free State Store.

The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively promoting and selling Dis-Chem cosmetic and beauty products while delivering excellent and consistent customer service.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Retail experience as a Sales Consultant.
• Computer literate.
• Willing and able to work retail hours.

Advantageous:

• Previous cosmetics, fragrance and/or beauty experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Escalate serious and unresolved customer complaints to the manager.
• Provide a high level of customer care and service.
• Demonstrate products through makeovers, cosmetics demonstrations, spray promotions and/or related activities.
• Manage stock levels according to Dis-Chem procedures and report short, damaged and expired stock to the manager.
• Ensure merchandising and displays are attractively set up and maintained.
• Maximise store income by achieving department, brand and vendor sales targets.
• Keep up to date with products, brands and developments within the retail industry.
• Take responsibility for all cosmetics, fragrances and beauty house promotions.
• Manage Salon appointments.
• Adhere to Dis-Chem policies and procedures, SOPs, and health and safety rules and regulations.

Competencies

Essential:

• Strong command of English, both written and oral.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Understanding of stock reports and sales, including target and commission calculations.
• Ability to work according to a task schedule.

Advantageous:

• Knowledge of promotions, personal selling, sales targets, customer liaison and product knowledge.
• Previous sales and promotional training.
• Experience managing expired and damaged stock and ensuring effective stock rotation.
• Bilingual.
• Stock management experience.
