Placements24 is seeking a diligent Corporate Lawyer to join its legal team in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will provide cross-functional legal support, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, and advise on governance and transactions, while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• LL.B. degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admitted Attorney with a valid practicing certificate.
• 3–5 years post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial law, preferably in-house.
• Strong understanding of South African corporate and contract law.
• Proven drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and research skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement.
• High professionalism, integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in legal research tools and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including service agreements, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
• Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with the Companies Act and other relevant legislation.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions from a legal perspective.
• Conduct legal research and provide opinions on corporate law issues.
• Manage the company's statutory compliance requirements.
• Assist in developing and implementing corporate policies and procedures.
• Liaise with external counsel and regulatory authorities as required.
• Provide legal support to various business units on day-to-day operational matters.
• Maintain corporate records and ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to risk management by advising on potential legal liabilities.
