Placements24 in Pietermaritzburg seeks an experienced Industrial Controls and Automation Technician to install, program, and maintain PLCs, HMIs, robotics, VFDs, and servo systems for manufacturing processes. You will read schematics, perform preventative maintenance, and support improvements across automated lines to optimize efficiency and reliability.

You will document control-system changes, collaborate with engineering and production, and ensure safety compliance in a fast-paced industrial

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial controls or automation
• Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens/Allen-Bradley)
• Familiarity with HMI software and graphical interface design
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, and power distribution

Responsabilités

• Install, program, and maintain PLCs and HMIs
• Troubleshoot and repair automation systems including robotics, servo drives and sensors
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and control diagrams
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime
• Collaborate with engineering and production to implement process improvements
• Ensure safety and compliance with standards
• Develop and update control system documentation
• Assist in designing new automation solutions
