Placements24 is seeking a senior Control Systems Engineer for our client's Oil & Gas operations near Sandton, Gauteng. You will design and implement PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, configure hardware/software, and develop documentation for safe production facilities.

You will bolster OT cybersecurity, support operations, and collaborate on system upgrades. The role requires 5+ years in industrial automation with PLC/SCADA expertise and a can-do, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, SCADA, or industrial automation.
• Proficiency with PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell) and SCADA software (Ignition, Wonderware).
• Strong understanding of industrial networking and cybersecurity (OT).

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and implement PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems for industrial automation.
• Configure and troubleshoot control system hardware and software.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including P&IDs, logic diagrams, and network architecture.
• Ensure the cybersecurity of control systems in line with industry best practices.
• Provide technical support for control system issues during operations and maintenance.
• Collaborate with project teams on integration of new control systems and upgrades.
• Perform system testing, commissioning, and validation.
• Analyze system performance data and recommend optimization strategies.
• Stay abreast of advancements in industrial automation and control system technology.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
