Placements24 is seeking a senior Control Systems Engineer for our client's Oil & Gas operations near Sandton, Gauteng. You will design and implement PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems, configure hardware/software, and develop documentation for safe production facilities.

You will bolster OT cybersecurity, support operations, and collaborate on system upgrades. The role requires 5+ years in industrial automation with PLC/SCADA expertise and a can-do, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, SCADA, or industrial automation.
• Proficiency with PLC programming (Siemens, Rockwell) and SCADA software (Ignition, Wonderware).
• Strong understanding of industrial networking and cybersecurity (OT).

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a leading name in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer with a focus on automation and SCADA systems for their operations near Sandton, Gauteng . This position is responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of industrial control systems that ensure the efficient and safe operation of production facilities. The engineer will work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and distributed control systems (DCS). A strong understanding of industrial automation, networking, and cybersecurity within an operational technology (OT) environment is essential. This role is vital for maintaining and enhancing the operational capabilities of our client's assets in South Africa .
