About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to contribute to their operations in Stellenbosch . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated control systems for energy infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborating closely with automation specialists and plant engineers to enhance operational efficiency. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in industrial automation, PLC/DCS programming, and a deep understanding of energy systems. This hybrid role offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for energy facilities.
• Develop and maintain control system architectures, ensuring system integration, cybersecurity, and data integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to control systems hardware and software, minimizing downtime.
• Implement process optimization strategies through advanced control algorithms and system tuning.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define control system requirements and upgrade plans.
• Ensure all control systems adhere to relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting industrial control systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages for major PLC/DCS platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, ABB).
