Job summary

Jendmark in South Africa is seeking a passionate Control Systems Engineer to shape, create, innovate and lead in industrial automation. You’ll design, develop and commission world-class systems, working with experienced engineers on projects across SA and abroad.

With ~3-5 years in automation, you’ll grow toward a Control Systems Supervisor role, mentoring teams and delivering successful projects while advancing technology and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Approximately 3-5 years of industrial automation experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC, HMI and SCADA software for automated manufacturing systems.
• Design control philosophies and machine sequences.
• Configure industrial networks and fieldbus systems.
• Integrate robots, vision systems, motion control and measurement equipment.
• Test and commission equipment locally and internationally.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and support customers during ramp-up.
• Lead small teams as experience grows and mentor junior engineers.

What you'll be doing:

You'll become involved in every phase of an automation project including:

• Developing PLC, HMI and SCADA software
• Designing control philosophies and machine sequences
• Configuring industrial networks and fieldbus systems
• Integrating robots, vision systems, motion control and measurement

• Testing and commissioning equipment both locally and internationally
• Supporting customers during installation and production ramp-up
• Producing high-quality technical documentation
• Working closely with Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering teams
• Identifying opportunities to improve software standards and engineering
