Job summary

Kwena Human Capital is assisting in recruiting a Contracts and Variations Engineer for a global engineering client in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. This project-based contract runs until November 2027 and focuses on EPC/subcontract management within renewable energy and large-scale infrastructure.

The role requires strong contracts experience on major energy/construction projects, a valid driver’s license with own vehicle, and willingness to relocate or pass a site medical as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in contracts management on large renewable energy / power generation / construction / Infrastructure projects.
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
• Must be willing to relocate to Postmasburg, Northern Cape if outside the area.
• Must be able to pass a site medical.

Responsibilities

• Manage EPC/subcontract agreements and ensure contractors perform according to their contractual scope.
• Review contractor claims and variation requests when the scope, quantities, specifications or methodology changes.
• Assess variations to determine whether the additional work is genuinely outside the original contract scope.
• Price variations by reviewing labour, materials, equipment, quantities, subcontractor quotations and applicable contract rates.
• Assess Extension of Time (EOT) claims where a variation or other event affects the completion date
• Manage contract close-out, including final accounts, outstanding variations, claims and settlement.
